It most certainly is a lot more elegant and probably way more reliable than all this hacked together components. I have yet to see a full on demo / hands on review which really digs deep into the BMD Mini panel to decide if it's actually bringing more to the table than my own setup I'm using right now. There's some redudancy to it as I have the HSL qualifier on the Color panl itself and I'm trying to get re-acustomed to use that as my mapping on the twiser is a bit unreliable if you work too fast. I'm actually using the default mapping on the color panel and added everything else to the twister like temp/tint color boost / mid tone details, printer lite keys and HSL qualifier etc. I have mapped a lot of the panel switching to the xkeys. I did pretty much the same thing as Dermot did, using a combination of Euphonics Color panel, XKeys24 and the Midifighter Twister with custom mappings to find my way around in Resolve. It's not very in-depth and I don't think he demos the qualifier features, but to me at least it looks like BMDs own panels don't switch the software side of things either.īut I agree it's something to be missed on the Artist panel from my own experience. At one point Warren actually grabs the mouse and switches to the color wheels display to show the changes the offset feature brings to the wheels. I just watched a short video from Warren Eagles on Facebook with the Mini Panel in action and it does not seem to switch panels in Resolve.
